On this 8 days Uganda wildlife safari package, you will go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and view some of the great game of Africa in Queen Elizabeth national park. Witnessing the Great Apes of Africa; the Chimpanzees and Gorillas while on a safari is one of the most interesting wildlife encounters. You will explore some of Uganda’s best safari destinations and delve into their primate variety. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a world class Gorilla trekking destination while Kibale forest is regarded as the “World’s Primate capital” because of its classic primate tracking experiences.

Note: Welcome to the Land of Great Apes! Meet and Greet with the guide at the airport on the day of arrival for this Chimpanzee – Gorilla trekking and game viewing safari. You will then be transferred to the hotel in Kampala where dinner and overnight will be.

Package Itinerary
Departure from Kampala after breakfast, travel west of the country to Fort Portal city. You enjoy an exquisite drive in this part of the country, lunch will be in Fort Portal, then continue to the park area at the lodge where you rest off from this day drive in the tranquil vicinity of the surrounding. It’s here dinner and overnight will be.
Meal Plan: Half Board [HB]. O/night: Crater lodge (Luxury) /Primate lodge (Midrange) /Kibale Forest camp (Standard).
Transfer to the park reception area at Kanyanchu, you will meet up with the ranger guide who will take you through briefing then at around 08:30am, you will start off the Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale forest. The forest is home to lots of species and other primates (13 identified) which you may come across like Vervet Monkeys, Bush babies, Blue monkeys, Black and White colobus, Potto and many others, birds, butterflies, trees and other forest mammals are well represented.
Tracking the Chimpanzee takes about 3-4 hours depending on their movements with an hour availed to you once you encounter them.
After your lunch break, you will go to Bigodi wetland near Kibale forest national park, this wetland acts as a wildlife corridor to the park and shelters over 200bird species, 8 primates and swamp mammals like Waterbucks, Sitatungas etc.

Today you discover some of the crater lakes of western Uganda, on a simple trekking adventure. The craters were listed by Earthporn.com as some of the world’s most beautiful craters, and the region presents remarkable photography moments.
After lunch depart to Queen Elizabeth national park located southwest of Kibale, the route is beautiful with sights of the towering Rwenzori Mountains in the milieu.

Leave the lodge very early after breakfast and hit the undulating savanna plains of Queen Elizabeth on a game viewing experience. You take on a safari game drive around the plains of Kasenyi where you expect to see lots of wildlife both big and small game like the odd Leopards, Uganda Kobs, African Elephant, Warthogs, and Cape Buffalos among others. Many other wildlife species like Birds such as Francolins can be seen.
In the afternoon hours, you will participate in an interesting launch trip along the Kazinga channel; a stream of water that connects lakes George and Edward and it is home to a variety of wildlife most especially Hippopotamuses and others like Buffaloes, Elephants and birds. This activity lasts about 2 hours, then transfer back to the lodge where dinner and overnight will be.

Today after breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park, taking on a drive through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth; the Ishasha, known for the tree climbing Lions. You will do a simple game drive here, and these might be opportune moments to see the tree Lions.
Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable where you will arrive in the evening and check-in at the lodge where dinner and overnight awaits you.
Note: The accommodation depends on the sector where your trekking will be, either Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo or Ruhija.

Transfer to the park reception area in time, for briefing after breakfast and with packed lunch boxes. Here you meet with the ranger guide who will take you through the Gorilla trekking etiquette and at around 0830 hours, you enter this forest that takes the brave to penetrate, for your gorilla adventure. The activity can last just a few hours to more (6hours) depending on the gorilla group you are tracking; its location and movements as well as the speed of the trackers. Due to the terrain and nature of the forest, one needs to be reasonably fit to trek the gorillas and once you meet them, an hour is availed to you to see them.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed then retreat to the reception area where you meet the guide and transfer to the lodge for relaxation.

Leave Bwindi area after your previous day Gorilla trekking experience and transfer southwestwards to Lake Bunyonyi, where you will have a fascinating ride on a motorized canoe along this beautiful lake. You will visit a few of its 29 Islands, the lake is impressive for its scenery, ether and birdlife.

An early breakfast at the lodge will mark the end of your Chimpanzee – Gorilla trekking and game viewing Uganda safari. Then hit the road on a drive back to Kampala, and drop off will be at the airport or the hotel. (Optional: You break off at Igongo Cultural museum for a tour). You will stop at the Equator-00for some simple Kodak moments.
