Welcome to the Land of a Thousand Hills! Meet and Greet from the guide on the day of arrival at Kigali international Airport, then transfer to your accommodation where you will enjoy a stay.

At a size of 1’019sq.km, Nyungwe forest which is situated in the southwestern part of Rwanda, about 4hours from Kigali is a vast mountain forest which clearly brings out the tag “Land of a thousand hills”. The park is a popular destination for primate tracking safaris and tours mainly the Chimpanzee tracking adventures. Because of its remarkable diversity and ecological importance, the park was inscribed as a UNESCO heritage site in 2023, its home to over 13primate species, 300 of birds with 30 limited to the Albertine rift region.
During your visit to Nyungwe, you’ll also visit the Nyanza King’s Palace at Nyabisindi. You will meet the Chimpanzees and before you set off into the forest, the guide will take you through the tracking etiquette and prepare for a thrilling adventure. While in Nyungwe forest, you will also take on a canopy walk where you stand high above a dense mountain forest- 70m from the ground and take in the rollercoaster scenery.

Au-revoir! Leave Nyungwe after your primate adventure and safari tour, head to Kigali where you arrive in afternoon hours for a lunch break and afterwards, you take on a tour around Kigali where you’ll visit local markets and the Genocide memorial. These give you a taste of the country’s past and local lifestyle.
Kigali is the capital of Rwanda seated at an area of about 730sq.km and its composed of the districts of Nyarugenge, Kicukiro and Gasabo making it the largest city in the country. Kigali is a fast growing city basically for MICE and incentive tourism, and it’s also vibrant for its cultural and historical tourism with lots of experiences to offer to visitors.

As you’re proceeding to the northwestern part of the country, or during your stay at the tranquility of your safari lodge, you’ll enjoy the breathtaking jaw-dropping landscape which emphasizes Rwanda’s tag name the “land of a thousand hills”. Here in the Volcanos National Park, you’re to encounter the Mountain Gorillas on a trekking adventure, the un-parallel terrain is unreal and the chilly conditions offer adventures of a lifetime in the African jungle. As you continue through the forest along the trails high to where you’ll meet the assigned gorilla group, the eagerness and excitement builds up so when you finally meet these creatures, you will spend an hour in their presence staring at them and taking those epic shots you can manage.
On the day of tracking, you assemble early at the reception where the ranger takes you through the trekking etiquette and at around 8am you enter the forest to start the quest. Gorilla trekking safaris rank as some of Africa’s premier wildlife encounters.

Lights out for the Land of a thousand Hills, this marks your last day of Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking safari in Rwanda. Leave Volcanos National Park in time for your flight from Kigali to Zanzibar. Depending on the time for your flight, embark on a nearly 2-hour journey from the park to Kigali International airport where you’ll be assisted by the guide to check-in for your regional flight to the beautiful Zanzibar island.

Enjoy the last days of your safari on the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Explore the culturally and historically endowed Stone town which holds a world heritage status from UNESCO. It is the cultural heartbeat of Zanzibar where you’ll visit various historical and cultural sites. Visit the National museum where you will find vestiges of early explorers and Sultans, wildlife among other relics, you will visit different buildings of interest like the House of Wonders, Old Fort, the Cathedral Church of Christ and others. A boat trip to the Prison Island and submarine to see the beauty beneath the ocean are worth during your stay.
